Ash is a very widespread tree in Europe and Eastern America. Its trunk is straight and regular.
In ancient times, it was used to make bows. Today it’s considered a precious wood. With its leaves and bark rich in tannins, it’s an excellent remedy against water retention, cholesterol and rheumatic pains.
You can prepare an infusion (infusion time 5-10 minutes) or a decoction:
Put some leaves and roots in cold water and boil for 5-10 minutes. Drink it immediately in order to preserve active ingredients.
You can also use only leaves: 40 g (1.41 oz) in 1 l of water. Boil for 8 minutes. Drink 2 small cups per day to soothe rheumatic pains and 3 cups per day in case of arthritic pains.
To fight dropsy due to rheumatic disorders, boil 130 g (4.58 oz) of ash roots in 1 l of water till reducing it to the half.
Drink a glass of it every morning on an empty stomach.
