Properties of the lemon balm: anti-hysteric, antispasmodic, aromatic, tonic-stomatal, carminative.
Infusion: pour 2 dl of boiling hot water on two pinches of chopped aerial parts in a pot and cover. After 15 minutes drain and sweeten. Take a small cup after meals for difficult digestions and gastroenteritis; it is recommended before meals for hesitant people and in tablespoons for heart palpitations and depression.
Tranquillizer tea: 5 g (0.17 oz) of green lemon balm flowers or 3 g (0.10 oz) of dried leaves in a cup of water.
Liqueur: soak balm fresh leaves (60 grams (2.11 oz)) and absinth green leaves (30 grams (1.05 oz)) in 1 l of brandy for one month and drain. Drink a small glass dipping sugar cubes for indigestions, dizziness, heart attacks and mountain sickness.
