Arthritis cause is the accumulation of toxic substances in the body, causing metabolic deterioration of fluids, tissues and body cells. The body, because of its weakening, is unable to fully eliminate these substances that consequently accumulate. Ultimately there’s the exhaustion caused by life bad habits that use nervous energy, which can be recovered only after long periods of rest and sleep. Body weakening inhibits excretion and increases toxins accumulation, interfering with nutritional synthesis. Thus our metabolism suffers from some changes that can lead to a pathology.
People suffering from arthritis need to drink a lot of liquids, especially fruit juices since they are very vitaminic, and to eat all the foods helping kidney functions and providing few nitrogenous substances. Bread consumption must be reduced and replaced by potatoes or brain; meat has to be avoided and replaced with light lake or river fish. Eat plain rice, avoid shellfishes, hot food, very spicy food, preserved and smoked food, game. As for herbs and vegetables: legumes, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, peppers, chards, abundant carrots and celery are not recommended. Avoid eating asparagus, turnips and green beans. Vegetable soups with low fat stock and soups of stinging nettles soft leaves are recommended. Lemon juice and fruit, both raw and cooked, are very good.
There is plenty of remedies for pain, for example:
Mush to put on the sore part: chop parsley, onion, ash and songia. This mixture has to be applied warm to the sore part and left all night long.
Oil rubbings: rub with camphorated alcohol mixed with olive oil.
Sand baths: sand baths are one of the most popular remedies used during the summer season (after getting medical advice). Lie down on the beach and let hot sand cover all your body except the head. Start with just 5 minutes, increasing the duration in the following days until reaching 12 minutes. Repeat it every other day to avoid straining your heart. If you have sand bath only on the sore part you can stay till 25 minutes or longer. Have a hot shower vigorously rubbing the sore part. As soon as you get out of the sand, you can drink a sip of brandy to stand the reaction.
Linseeds infusion: let a tbsp of linseeds stand in a glass of hot water with a bit of liquorice overnight. Drink this infusion the following day for rheumatic pains.
Lemons treatment: have one lemon per day, whatever way and whenever you want except on an empty stomach, for at least 2 months.
Ferns for cervical arthrosis: gather ferns during the summer and let them dry in the shadow .Then put them in a cotton bag and sew. Put on the pillow and sleep on it during the night. It will relax your neck.
Recipe for a potatoes cake against arthritis: this cake is effective against arthritis since potatoes are high in potassium salts content: boil 1 l of water with ½ kg of sugar. Cook, mash and sift half a kilo of potatoes, add them to the water with sugar once melted. Add a lemon peel and let on low fire until getting a certain stiffness; then pour into a mould greased with butter and put in the oven for 15 minutes. Let it cool in the oven. It will last for some days.
