Cough and sore throat remedies with marshmallow

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis), thanks to its soothing properties, is used since 1000 B.C. to heal sore throat and cough.
The root, which once was powdered to make candies, is the part used since it contains all the active principles. It’s also a sweet way to aid children’s bowel and refresh the digestive system.

Marshmallow root decoction: boil a cup of water and put a tsp of marshmallow root. Let it boil for 5 minutes. Then switch it off and let it infuse for 5 more minutes. Drink 3-4 cups per day.

Lady’s mantle (alchemilla vulgaris) has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties.

It’s also as remedy against diarrhea, period pains, or postpartum and menopausal disorders.
For topic use, it’s helpful for small wounds or to make vaginal irrigation in case of leukorrhea.

Lady’s mantle infusion: let a tbsp infuse in a cup of boiling hot water for 10 minutes. Drink it twice per day.
