Pythagoras' remedy against sleeplessness

Here is a strange but very effective advice for people who have difficulty in falling asleep: eat a big lettuce salad every night or, if you prefer, drink a decoction made boiling a head of lettuce in half a litre of water before going to sleep.
Lettuce, actually, has considerable sedative properties, favours sleep and ancient Greeks, Pythagoras included, used it to fight insomnia.
